So I'm more than just an artist, a dreamer, a designer, an imaginst (yes I made that up.) I'm a little bit of everything I can do, try to do, even fail at. I try because I'm not afraid to fail. I'm running an Etsy shop while still being in high school with a part-time job. I enjoy exercising because it's fun. I have a try and be ok with failing attitude than a never try and never fail attitude. I would rather fail and learn or succeed and learn than never try something new.
A little more about me. I started to draw from a young age and from what I hear it wasn't just mindless scribbles. I would draw pictures and color inside the lines. To this day I still draw except now I enter them in competitions. I'm considering selling some even. I love to draw and create new things. It's one of my passions. It doesn't matter what medium I do it in I just like to be creative and show the world what I can do even if that "world" is my school, family, and friends.
Another little thing I like to do is crochet. I don't know why but I do. I was taught how to crochet around the time I was 7. So ya know I made little things like blankets, dish rags, pot holders. The boring things that it seems like everyone can make. I stopped crocheting for awhile and then after I learned to make hair bows as a freshman in high school I looked back and wondered why I stopped. I did a little looking around and found some patterns I liked that were free and decided to give them a try. Let's just say they didn't quite turn out to be usable.... But hey try and fail and it helps you learn. I'm now to the point where I can make hats for babies to adults. I can make baby sandals. Fingerless gloves and leg warmers are also on that list. Apart from crocheting I can make various styles of Boutique hair bows and list them along with my crochet items in my etsy shop. I make tutus from newborn to adult which is always so much fun.
But I'm not just some teen who makes things for a hobby. Yes the hairbows and tutus and crochet stuff is a hobby but art, art is not a hobby for me. One day I want to make a living with it. I want to be a local artist or even a well known artist in a few different areas. But thats not all I want to do. I want to help the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities. I want to be an interpreter, teacher, someone who can help them. This is my other passion. I want to help those who will take it but also need it even if it is in certain situations. But I need a little help getting there. Friends who know ASL, friends who are Deaf or HoH. Someone who can help me learn outside of my class that is starting in the fall. Just someone.
That's all for now really. I'd love it if you checked out my etsy shop. If you like my facebook page (www.facebook.com/degirlycreations) and then message me saying that you saw my blog and it led you there I will give you a code for 15% off your first purchase of $25. Thanks for reading guys!!
